Everyone learns differently. When you homeschool, it is very helpful to figure out the different ways that your children learn, process information, and retain knowledge. This will make teaching easier, and also reduces your child's frustration. Both will set you up for success. This guide details the Vark model of assessing learning styles for four identified ways of learning. Vark stands for visual, auditory, reading/writing, and kinesthetic. It further explains three additional learning styles identified by developmental psychologist Howard Gardner. This is called the theory of Multiple Intelligences: logical-mathematical, social, and solitary.

How to Withdraw Your Child from School in Colorado

If you want to start homeschooling during the school year and your child is currently enrolled in a public or private school, you may formally withdraw your child from that school. If you are going to start homeschooling after the school year is over, and your child is considered enrolled for the following year, we recommend that you withdraw your child before the next school year begins, so that the school does not mark your child as absent or truant.

The Moore Foundation and Academy

Dr. Raymond and Dororthy Moore were homeschooling pioneers who contributed to the body of research on homeschooling in the late 1960s and early '70s. Their philosophy emphasizes that children,e specially boys, need individualized attention, using a no-stress approach. High success comes when close individual attention is paid to the needs of the student, following their interests, and allowing them to mature at their own rate.
